Improviser
Tom’s comedy improv experience started with games, friendly competitions, and long form Improv with Theatre Sports New Haven and S.K.I.T.S. Although, one could say Tom’s professional acting career started one night after he went to see his first improv show.
In New Haven he met and improvised with many from Theatre Sports New York, and soon joined Wendy Dillion and her Manhattan based, Mission Improvable troupe. He continued with them until the year Mission Improvable split up into two teams (because there was a size limit) for the Stanislavski Open in NYC, and wound up taking 1st and 2nd place.
After moving to Los Angeles, Tom played with Fool, at Sacred Fools, and also studied and performed a few shows with UCB.
At this time Tom uses improv more as an audition skill, rehearsal technique, and a way to embellish certain scripts when given permission.
